Pedigree Simmental Cattle

The Deerhurst herd of pedigree Simmental Cattle was founded in 1981 by Guy Van Der Gucht at Apperley Court near the village of Apperley in Gloucestershire.

The principles on which the herd was built have remained for the past 30 years and the importance of breeding quality cattle with good style and breed character still ensures the success of the herd and allows it to continue to be an influence on the breed as a whole. Founded from stock carefully chosen from the best imported lines of their time, Deerhurst has continued to work with top quality bulls, all of whom have stamped their mark on the herd over the years.

Guy Van Der Gucht together with stocksman Noah Hoskins has always strived to produce not only stylish but top performing good conformation cattle for his own herd and others, with an emphasis on the excellent temperament for which the breed is famous.
